Nancy Lee

Nancy Raitano Lee is a licensed clinical psychologist and associate professor in the Department of Psychological and Brain Sciences at Drexel University. She completed her undergraduate studies at Cornell University and her doctoral studies at the University of Denver. She joined the faculty at Drexel in 2014 after doing a clinical fellowship focused on developmental disabilities at the University of Colorado School of Medicine and a research fellowship focused on neuroimaging at the National Institutes of Health.

As a faculty member at Drexel, Nancy is particularly passionate about training the next generation of behavioral scientists who are committed to supporting the wellbeing of individuals with developmental disabilities through the provision of high-quality clinical care and the completion of rigorous research. She currently runs the Drexel LADDER (Learning And Developmental Disabilities Research) Lab. The mission of the lab is to increase knowledge about the neural and psychosocial correlates of the complex learning difficulties associated with different developmental disabilities such as Down syndrome and autism spectrum disorder. Nancy is particularly interested in understanding factors that may be leveraged to support the development of functional life skills such as communication, activities of daily living, and vocational engagement. Her work has been funded by private and government agencies and has been disseminated in peer-reviewed journals and via presentations in the US and internationally.

Outside of work, Nancy enjoys knitting, gardening, and planning home improvement projects for her tiny, very old house in South Philadelphia. She also enjoys taking care of her rescued kitty, Peter Cottontail.
